The biggest realization I had in my 20s is that I have complete and total control over my life. I always thought that there was only one, specific path to financial and professional success: climb the ladder, get promoted, buy a house, and then I could be happy.
What I discovered after spending years pursuing this path is that I didn't want it. There was no new job or promotion or title that could fill the void I felt. And there was no corporate career path that was going to pay me what I wanted. So I created my own path and built my OWN ladder... and you can, too!

After a few years of working in finance, I noticed my friends, family, and colleagues were all approaching me with questions about common personal finance concepts. Whether it be how to open a 401k, create a budget, and even which accounts types to open - I became their go-to resource to learn more about financial practices. I realized that something I had always been so passionate about was also something that so many people struggled to figure out and apply within their own lives. This is where Break Your Budget was born.
Ultimately, Break Your Budget blossomed into so much more. It's become a platform to teach, help, and inspire others - just like myself, my friends, and my colleagues - how to navigate that ~weird~ time after college where you're laying your financial foundation and navigating the world of work.

One day I hope to live on a big piece of land in Montana, build a ranch, buy a horse (or 2) and homestead off the grid!
